Doing the tourist thing (Whitehorse, YT)

Happy Birthday to Andrew and Belated Birthday Greetings to Beverly.

It is interesting to note the changing landscape from flat planes of the Mid West to the mountains of the far West.

Here are some pictures of the road from Watson Lake to Whitehorse. It was a gray and cloudy day, with intermittent rain.

Today we did the tourist thing in Whitehorse.

First we went to the Klondike.  A Stern Wheeler that was used on the Yukon River in the 1930s. It is now a national Landmark, run by the Canadian Government.

After the Klondike we we headed for the Yukon Transportation Museum. The Museum was very well laid out and interesting.  It included all forms of transportation used in the Yukon.

Also next door was the Beringia Museum.  It is a museum dedicated to the last great ice age.   They had dioramas of the animals that lived at the time.  The staff was well informed and extremely helpful.

Life is good along the Roan Road…
