We are sitting here in the Toad River Lodge and RV park waiting. Waiting for two things. The road to open above Watson Lake and a tow truck.
Coming up from Dawson Creek we had to climb some steep grades. Just as we got to the top, the truck went into a “Low Power Mode” . We were 60 miles from the camp site so, afraid to shut down the engine, we kept on truck’n. Going down hill was fine. Going level, which there was not to much of, was ok. Going up hill was excruciatingly slow. When we finally pulled into the site I looked up the error code. It was a "Low coolant flow” error. Which could be many things.
This morning, with no cell service, using the campsite’s only payphone and Skype, I contacted the tow service. They have to send a Flatbed Tow truck from Ft. St. John, where the Ford dealer is, some 350 miles back down the road. It will take them 6 hours to get here. They should be here around 6 PM today. That means 6 hours back, in the tow truck, to St. John. I guess we will have to spend the night in a hotel there. Just hope they have the parts and can fix it quickly. It should be under the extended warranty. Then 6 hours back to the camp site.
The only good in this is we would have to site and wait for the road to open anyway. Last update is they will have one lane open tomorrow with trucks having priority. It looks like we will not be able to get through until Thursday (at the earliest, probably later then that).
So here are some pictures coming over the mountain and around the camp site.
I can see into the future now. It look like a new truck, somewhere down the line. Right, Ann?
Live is good on the Roan Road… If we can just get past this week!!
Wow, you guys! I think the RV Dealership sold you a lemon! Maybe a call to them is in order. We have had trips where things went wrong ( most of them have something!), but yours seems to be getting to be the over-the-top variety (pun intended)! Hope your RV karma improves SOON! :)

DeleteThe problem is not the RV it is Ford. And from what I am reading and being told, this is not uncommon.
