Unloading at the Ford Dealer
We are back at the campsite. The tow truck showed up around 6 PM, loaded the truck on the flatbed and Ann in the back seat and me in the front for the 6 hour ride to Fort St. John. The driver Mike, a really nice guy, and I had a nice conversation most of the way until I fell asleep. Mike stayed awake.
Around 1 AM we finally pulled into the Ford dealer. Ann and I got a room in a hotel down the block for the night. We got to the Ford dealer by 8 AM, when they opened. The had a full schedule but said they would fit us in. By 11 AM we were done. It turned out to be a bad thermostat in the cooling system. I have read online this is not uncommon. I am not happy with Ford.
We finally got back to the campsite around 12AM. Most of the the trip back was in daylight because it stays light for so long. We saw a lot of wild life, and almost hit a few. We saw a heard of sheep run in front of us across the road. Lots of deer and moose. Sorry, but I could not get any pictures.
Tomorrow we head for Laird Hot Springs. It is BC provincial park with a hot spring to go swimming in. More on that tomorrow, if the WiFi goes in in our favor.
Don’t forget to leave your comments…we love reading them!
Life is good on the Roan Road…

ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your travel adventures. You need to stay away from those Ford dealers. Sorry to hear about the truck issues you have had. Those sensors are frustrating. These vehicles are too complex for most people to repair. I am sure you have Coach Net or a similar emergency road service. I was sure glad to have Coach Net when I ran out of fuel in my primary fuel tank.
We both have enjoyed reading all the stuff you have been doing. Great photos.
We have been doing some camping, not enough. We travel (mostly within a 150 miles radius) with a Shrine RV group. Sandy finally gave up her FREE babysitting job last month. We can now travel. I am still painting the exterior of my house. The cold wet spring slowed me down. Hopefully soon the big project will be done. We still have a lot of exterior work to do on the place. We have had maintenance issues on this 100+ year old house.
We are considering spending the winter in the Phoenix, AZ area this winter. Several friends winter there and have given us good information. Looks like most people spend Jan-Mar south and then go north when it heats up in April.
What areas do you plan on visiting in Alaska?
Keep up the blogs as you have wifi access. We enjoy your travels.
